Cookies & browser storage
Last updated: 15 September 2026.
This notice covers playbusysignal.com and its browser game. It explains cookies and similar browser storage. The privacy policy explains personal data processing. Leonardo Lazzaro operates Busy Signal as LCUBO Studios; contact support@playbusysignal.com.
Your choice
Optional browser-game analytics is off until you choose “Accept optional analytics.” “Reject optional analytics” keeps it off without preventing you from browsing, signing in, or playing. Use “Privacy settings” in the footer or game at any time to change your choice. Closing the notice does not grant consent. A saved choice lasts 180 days in this browser, then we ask again.
Withdrawing consent stops new optional measurements and removes this browser’s analytics identifier and unsent practice records. It does not undo earlier processing or recall requests already sent. Contact us to exercise your data rights. Changing the choice on the game page restarts it; leave your match first. Other open game tabs stop local analytics collection and uploads when consent is withdrawn. After enabling it from another tab, reload the game to start collection under the new choice. Previously established online sessions can continue to use information already sent until you leave.
Essential cookies
We set these first-party cookies only when you request account sign-in. They are needed to provide and protect that sign-in, so they do not use the optional analytics choice. Both use Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, apply to the whole site, and are restricted to this host.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
__Host-busy_login | Verify the login attempt and protect the Google sign-in callback. | Up to 5 minutes; cleared when sign-in is exchanged successfully. |
__Host-busy_session | Authenticate your optional game account. | Up to 24 hours; cleared on logout or account deletion in that browser. |
Local storage and game data
- Privacy choice:
busy-signal.privacy.v1stores whether you accepted or rejected analytics, the notice version, and the time of your choice. It contains no random visitor identifier. We use it only to honour your choice. It expires for consent purposes after 180 days; the stored entry remains until replaced or cleared. - Game settings: the browser game uses its
/userfsIndexedDB database for local preferences and game files, such as your nickname and character. These remain until replaced or you clear site data. They support the game you request. - Optional returning-player identifier:
busy-signal.analytics.installation.v1is a random identifier stored only with analytics consent. It remains until consent expires, is withdrawn, or site data is cleared. - Optional practice queue: keys beginning
busy-signal.analytics.event.v1.hold unsent practice usage records only with analytics consent. The queue is limited to 256 events; acknowledged records are removed, and records older than 29 days are discarded when the queue is processed. Withdrawal removes them from accessible browser storage.
Optional storage permission also applies to the persistent identifier used for returning-player analysis in online play. Without it, the browser does not read or create that identifier. The game service still processes essential connection and match information, including temporary session identifiers and account information if you sign in, as explained in the privacy policy.
Cloudflare and Google
The home and page-not-found pages use cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits and page performance. It uses a script and network requests, rather than analytics cookies or local storage identifiers. It does not recognise you through a persistent visitor identifier and is separate from the game analytics choice. We do not show a blanket cookie banner for these website measurements or essential sign-in cookies. See Cloudflare Web Analytics and Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Legal notices, the live player-count page, and the game do not load that beacon.
Cloudflare also delivers and protects the site. Depending on security challenges and service configuration, it may use security cookies such as cf_clearance or __cf_bm. These were not observed in our fresh-browser audit; we do not claim they are set on every visit. Their purpose and configured lifetime are described in Cloudflare’s cookie documentation. Browser network-error reporting may also send technical failure information to Cloudflare without using cookies.
Google sign-in opens Google only when you request it. Google may use cookies on its own pages under Google’s privacy policy and your Google settings. Our analytics choice does not control Google’s separate service.
Removing or blocking storage
In your browser’s privacy settings, clear cookies and site data for playbusysignal.com. This can sign you out and erase local game settings and unsent records. Blocking essential storage may prevent sign-in or saving settings. Choices apply to this browser and device; repeat them on your other browsers and devices. If your browser prevents us from saving a choice, optional analytics remains off.
